CHILL: A Horror Roleplaying Game

I recently collaborated with Matthew McFarland on the Third Edition of the CHILL RPG, 3rd Edition- drawing the introductory comic at the start of the book- take a look and maybe buy a copy and scare your friends.

It was a lot of fun and I hope we can work together again soon.

Monster Motors

Here's a quick peek at a one-shot for IDW I did for Brian Lynch (writer of the upcoming Minions movie) and Nick Roche (Transformers). Hugely enjoyable mayhem, as usual:

Color: 30 Deniers

A new five-part series with Igor!
30 Deniers follows the path of the cursed pieces of silver that Judas was paid and the powers they each bear...

Color: Jour J

Another Delcourt title with Igor Kordej, though one with a different story- at the time, I had passed on doing this one-shot Graphic Novel because I felt I was stretched a bit too thin. So it was that I carried on, feeling a twinge of regret, but consoling myself that I had erred on the side of caution. As it turned out, the book needed a hand, and so I stepped in and helped out on the last fifteen pages. The style was less rendered then l'Histoire Secrete, but I think it works with Igor's more defined, less drybrushed inks.

Incidentally, Jour J concerns itself with alternative history, this one being about Leonardo Di Vinci and the Ottoman Empire.

Mars Attacks IDW!

This is a bit overdue in being posted, a fantastic mash-up of Topps' MARS ATTACKS!, TRANSFORMERS, GHOSTBUSTERS, KISS and IDW's own ROBOTS VS. ZOMBIES, all drawn by the legendary John Byrne, digital color by Len O'Grady (me).

Pretty Petty God

A wee drawing I did a while back for a Volume of extremely petty Petty Gods. This is Ywehbobbobhewy, God of Magic Mirrors.
I have another petty god lurking in my work folder, I just have to find the time to put a final polish on him/her/it. I'm sure I'll get to it when the stars are right...

Judge Dredd: Year One #4

Cover by Greg Staples
Our four-part mini epic draws to an end this month. Thanks again to Chris Ryall for giving me the gig, Matt Smith for a great story, Simon Coleby for such fun art to work with and Carlos Ezquerra, Greg Staples and Dave Sim for such amazing covers.
One of the highlights of my year.

Judge Minty

I just wanted to remind everyone about the amazing JUDGE MINTY fan movie that came out recently-  it's the best case that could me made as to the viability of a Judge Dredd show. Come on, Netflix- go for it and push the envelope on original programming.

l'Histoire Secrete Volume 30: Ground Zero

L'Histoire Secrete (The Secret History) has been part of my life for about six years now, and we're rapidly approaching the conclusion of the saga. As the cover indicates, the story's arrived at contemporary times and the events that lead to this alternative history's cataclysm.

My copies of volume 30 arrived today, and I'm continue to be blown away by the production values Delcourt put into their books- well done folks.

Archaia publishes the english translations and Comixology carries digital editions, so now is the perfect time to jump aboard.

Dredd-full Thursday

I have two Judge Dredd stories I colored out this week.
One is part three of Judge Dredd: Year One, the other is Meat is Murder, a story in the Judge Dredd Megazine. All very tasty; click the images below for previews:

It LIVES!

Strange & Darke, from the Judge Dredd Megazine, Art by Colin McNeil

At last, a chance to give my galleries a decent update!
Some of the pages expand on what's gone before, others are entirely new, so just go and take a look and see what's what.

New York Comic Com- Extra Galleries!

Because the New York Con is on this weekend, I've added a few extra galleries, mostly from IDW and Com.X. Good to see Scarface, Bazooka Jules and the others back again.

The new galleries are on the right, but I've added a splash from CLA$$WAR that should leave you speechless:

The Circle is now complete

Finally getting around to putting up more galleries, and came across this gem. The Circle by Brian Reed was huge fun to work on and looked great, but ended up being the one that got away:

Anyway, I've added a few pages from #1 to the right- I'll add more as soon as i get this dust out of my eye -sob!

Downright Zilky

As part of their team up with 2000AD, IDW has landed Al Ewing and Brendan McCarthy's Zaucer of Zilk. I've added a small selection of the pages I helped Brendan with (I came on board a few episodes in).
Buy Zaucer of Zilk #1 (of 2) in October

Separated at birth

Sorting out this blog has given me the opportunity to go virtual dumpster diving on my backups, so it's no surprise when I find stuff I had almost forgotten about. Separated by about a decade are these two pictures I did of a Dungeons and Dragons beastie.
I originally drew the one on the left in pen and ink as a package to go looking for work with Wizards of the Coast. The one next to it was drawn a few months ago on the Cintiq for my own amusement and for the Eclectic Micks. A bit of an improvement, methinks.

By Odin's Beard! More Galleries!

My Artwork gallery is up, as well as color pages of Thor, Dungeons and Dragons and Star Trek- check them out on the right.

First Post!

Right, it took a while to prise open a window of opportunity and get my website moved over to Blogger from iWeb. To be honest, this already feels a lot easier and less fiddly. So with no further ado, welcome to the new and improved lenogrady.com. Not all the galleries are up yet, but there's enough to  make a respectable showing for now, and I'll be adding more as the weeks go by.

I've a couple of pages to do some tweaks on, so I'll leave you with a piece I came up with last weekend for my collaborator Dirk Manning, since he's heading out to Comic Con.
